Foldio puts your pages in the right order for folding, shows every sheet before you print, and walks your printer through double-sided printing. Hand-bound signatures, simple booklets, Arabic and right-to-left books: all in your browser.
Works in desktop Chrome and Edge. Your files never leave your computer.
Signature 1
Why home printing goes wrong
Pages come out in the wrong order.
Foldio arranges every page for folding, as folded signatures or simple booklets, with as many sheets per signature as you like.
The backs print upside down.
A one-time duplex test learns how your printer turns the paper, so every export comes out the right way up.
The page count doesn’t divide by four.
Blank pages are added automatically where you choose, and you can drag them anywhere in the book.
Arabic books bind on the wrong side.
Choose right-to-left and the spine moves to the right, with every sheet ordered for RTL reading.
How it works
Mix PDFs and images, reorder pages, rotate, duplicate and insert blanks. Everything stays on your computer.
See the front and back of each printed sheet, which signature it belongs to, and the exact steps to print and assemble it.
Turn the pages of the finished book before you use any paper. Then export one print-ready PDF and follow the folding steps.
What’s inside
Glued or sewn signatures of any size, or cut-and-stack sheets. Pick where blank pages go.
Fronts and backs side by side. Hover a page to see what prints behind it.
Flip through it with real margins and spine offset, and see which sheet each page is on.
Print one test page, answer one question, and the backs come out right from then on.
Fix a line of text by retyping it, highlight, draw, add images and signatures, crop pages. Your originals never change.
Book-wide, in Latin or Arabic-Indic digits, starting on the page you choose.
Wraparound or front and back, on A4, A3 or custom card, with the spine width worked out for you.
Every book is autosaved in your browser. Save a .foldio file to back it up or move it to another computer.
Foldio has no upload step because it doesn’t need one. Pages are arranged, previewed and exported right in your browser, so your manuscript, your notes and your photos stay on your computer.

Who it’s for
Signatures, sheets per signature, spine offset and a duplex test: everything you need to print text blocks at home.
The spine on the right, the page order mirrored, and Arabic typed properly in the editor.
One-page 8-page zines, stapled A5 zines and pocket A6 booklets, laid out for you.
Storybooks, worksheets, programmes and orders of service: print them as neat folded booklets.
Combine papers and lecture notes into one booklet. Four pages on every sheet, and easier to read and annotate.
Right-to-left, done right
Most booklet tools assume every book opens to the left. Choose right-to-left in Foldio and everything mirrors: the spine moves to the right, the page order flips on every sheet, and Arabic text you add in the editor is shaped and joined properly.

No. Foldio runs entirely in your web browser. Your PDFs, edits and projects are stored on your own computer and are never sent to a server.
A desktop computer with Chrome or Edge, and a printer that can print on both sides of the paper, either automatically or with your printer driver’s manual two-sided option. There is nothing to install.
Foldio prints on A4, A3, US Letter, US Legal or a custom paper size. Pages are sized from the paper: half a sheet (A5 or half letter) for folded books and booklets, a quarter or less (A6, A7) for pocket booklets, and an eighth for the one-page zine. Covers can be printed on A4, A3 or custom card.
Imposition is arranging pages on a printed sheet so they read in order once the sheet is folded. On the outer sheet of a 16-page signature, for example, pages 16 and 1 share the front and pages 2 and 15 the back. A signature is a group of sheets folded together; a book is made of signatures sewn or glued at the spine. Foldio works out the imposition for you.
Yes. Right-to-left layout works for books in any language: the spine moves to the right and every sheet is ordered for right-to-left reading. Typing Arabic text in the page editor is fully supported, including mixed Arabic and English lines.
Yes, lightly. Retype a line of text (Foldio covers the original and places your text on top in the same spot), add text boxes, highlights, drawings, images and signatures, crop pages, and add page numbers or a running header to the whole book.
Automatically, in your browser on this computer. To keep a backup or move a project to another computer, save it as a .foldio file and open it there.
